We provide legal services in the field of labour law to employers, employment agencies, as well as individual employees. We help set up employment relationships so that they comply with legal requirements and are also sustainable in practice over the long term.
We primarily provide preparation and review of employment documentation, including employment contracts, agreements on work performed outside of employment (DPP/DPČ), and management contracts. We also participate in drafting internal regulations and setting up internal rules for the functioning of employers.
We also handle disputes arising from employment relationships, particularly in connection with termination of employment, and provide representation in court proceedings. Our practice also includes the area of workplace accidents and occupational diseases, including related claims.
A separate area of our work is legal advice in relation to the employment of foreign nationals, where we help clients navigate regulatory requirements and set up processes in compliance with applicable law.
Dispute resolution means protecting your rights at the moment when the other party fails to fulfil its obligations or interferes with your rights. This may involve unpaid invoices, breach of contract, defective construction work, tenant-related issues, liability for damages, or disputes between shareholders in a company.
Our role is not only to “file a lawsuit”. We first assess whether the dispute makes legal and economic sense, what the chances of success are, and what risks the proceedings involve. The goal is to choose a course of action that is effective, proportionate, and sustainable for the client in the long term.
We represent clients before courts of all levels, including the Supreme Court of the Czech Republic and the Constitutional Court, as well as in arbitration proceedings. At the same time, we always try to assess whether the dispute can be resolved out of court.
Basic procedure
Initial assessment of the case
We review contracts, communications, and other documents. We openly inform you about your chances of success, possible risks, and expected costs.
Out-of-court resolution
In many cases, a qualified pre-action demand letter or structured negotiations with the other party are sufficient. This step often leads to an agreement.
Court proceedings
If an agreement is not possible, we prepare a pre-action demand, a petition for a payment order, or a lawsuit, and represent you throughout the entire proceedings from the initial filing to the final binding decision.
Enforcement of the decision
If the other party does not comply even after a decision is issued, we ensure subsequent enforcement proceedings.
Costs of proceedings
In disputes, the principle of success in the case applies. The party that is fully successful is usually entitled to reimbursement of legal costs, including legal representation costs. Before initiating proceedings, we always assess the likelihood of costs being awarded and the risk of partial loss.
More detailed information on costs in debt recovery cases can be found in the article “Who bears the costs of legal representation.”
If you are dealing with a dispute or are unsure whether to initiate one, we will be happy to assess your situation individually and propose the next steps.
