Trust Funds

Trust funds are used in countries around the world, and since the entry into force of the current Civil Code, the Czech Republic has also become one of them. A typical reason for establishing a trust fund in the Czech Republic is:

• the desire to designate a specific person or group of persons with precisely defined rules determining when that person or persons become entitled to benefits from the trust fund (when and how much they receive);

• to protect assets from potential future enforcement proceedings, creditors, ex-spouses, and other persons;

• to ensure succession in a business;

• to support a specific purpose, such as an institution, sports club, municipality, etc.
